I’m very patient and good at explaining concepts in way that is easy to understand. I believe everyone learns at their own pace. That’s why it’s imperative that the student sets the agenda so they can get what they want out of a lesson.
To better explain how I teach, I follow the rhythm of the student. We will start the lesson discussing what they feel good about and what needs work. After that we will do some review of the stuff that’s ok—just to make sure it’s as good as we can get it—and spend the remainder of the lesson improving the things that need work. Repetition, positive reinforcement, and self-awareness are my teaching methodology, as it helps to breed confidence and better study habits.

I highly recommend Mercedes as a knowledgeable and effective, well-rounded tutor in the areas of English/Language Arts, Biological Sciences, World & European History, and Art. She is also an amazing swim coach and martial arts trainer. Whether it's one subject, or a full academic/athletic curriculum, Mercedes is able to teach students at multiple levels with enthusiasm.
