About Ella

Who I am: Ella, a third-year MPharm (Master of Pharmacy) student at the University of Manchester, I achieved A*AA (Chemistry, Biology and Spanish)

Why I’m well placed to teach bio and chem: my degree uses them every day, in pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, clinical pharmacology and cardiovascular therapeutics

My approach: clear, patient, plain-language explanations that focus on understanding rather than memorising

I know what it’s like to learn this: I’m still studying these subjects myself, so I know where students get stuck and how to explain it simply

About the lesson

Tricky topics broken down understanding why everything happens instead of just memorising

Past paper rundown and mark scheme techniques

Ironing out mistakes

Progress checks by setting some extra work to do before the next session

Recap - short summary at the end of every session

Recommendations

Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher

I’ve known Ella all her life! She’s bright, enthusiastic, patient and has a real ability to explain complicated things in a straightforward, approachable way. She’s studying Pharmacy at university, so has a strong scientific background and a genuine enthusiasm for chemistry. She’s also friendly, reliable and encouraging, which I think are exactly the qualities that make a good tutor. I’d happily recommend her to anyone looking for help with chemistry.
