About Careen
I'm a third year student at University of Toronto, Rotman Commerce, pursuing a specialist degree in Finance and Economics. UofT has definitely trained up my critical thinking skills and expanded my horizon. I love helping people during my free time and have done plenty of volunteering work. When I was in high school, I was also a peer tutor, helping students in various courses such as Grade 12 Advanced Functions and Economics. I enjoy the process of teaching and guiding students to understand difficult concepts.

I like to first understand a student's struggle before tackling them. Often, I would try to think in their shoes and figure out the part they are stuck on, before guiding them to the answer. I aim to make a student understand the concepts rather than memorize them, because as a student myself, I strongly believe that understanding a concept is a much more interesting way to learn. It trains our mind such that it pushes us to our limits, and gets us further when it comes to answering different types of questions.
