About
I'm a summa cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida State University. I have built a strong foundation in mathematics and the biological sciences through rigorous coursework. Beyond academics, I conducted research in a neuroscience lab, which resulted in a published paper. These experiences have given me both the content knowledge and problem-solving skills necessary to help students succeed in math and biology.
I have meaningful teaching experience that has shaped my approach to tutoring. For one semester, I served as a Freshman Interest Group instructor, where I taught a weekly seminar to first-year pre-health students. In this role, I worked with approximately twenty students at a time, dedicating about ten hours each week to my students. This experience taught me how to adapt my teaching style to meet diverse learning needs, create a supportive classroom environment, and break down complex topics in ways that resonate with students at different levels of understanding. I also mentored newer undergraduate students in my research lab, guiding them through procedures and helping them develop critical thinking skills in a collaborative setting.
My tutoring approach is patient, personalized, and focused on building understanding and confidence. I believe that effective learning happens when students feel supported and when concepts are broken down into manageable steps. I focus on identifying where students are struggling, addressing gaps in foundational knowledge, and teaching problem-solving strategies that empower them to think critically rather than simply memorizing.
I specialize in tutoring students in elementary through middle school science, biology through college level, and mathematics from elementary concepts through pre-algebra. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to equip them with study skills, organization strategies, and the confidence they need to become independent, successful learners in the long term.
