About Michael
Hey there! I'm a Master's-qualified writer who specialises in academic English: essays, assignments, and the writing skills that lift your grades.
Plenty of students arrive unsure how to even start an essay and leave with a framework they can run themselves, so you're not dependent on a tutor forever.
I also come from a professional writing and creative background, so alongside the academic work I can help you sharpen your own voice.
English as a subject, English as a language, or creative writing, let's connect.
- Bachelor of Communication
- Master of Media Arts Production
- TEFL qualified
- Running weekly writing workshops for 3+ years

Lessons on Offer:
Essay Writing - Students who work through my essay framework consistently reach distinctions and high distinctions. My focus is on structure and clarity, helping you argue your thesis to the point that it's undeniable. This focus extends to any type of persuasive text you might need to produce such as a Speech or Article.
High School English - With a background in Communication, I'm here to help you tackle all aspects of English with confidence. Whether it's assignments, literature, or writing skills, I've got you covered.
English Language - As a certified TEFL instructor, I'm able to customise my approach to your needs and level, ensuring you get the support you need to succeed.
Creative Writing - I've been running screenwriting workshops for over 3 years and recently launched my own Screenwriting course. I love helping develop my students' unique voices alongside their mastery of writing.
My Expectations:
Basic proficiency with Google Docs - I will set up a Google Docs folder for our lessons before we start. You will need to be able to use Google Docs in order to send me anything that you would like to work on in addition to providing me with your homework.
Preparation - As we go through our lessons I will be taking the time outside of class to look through your work. I expect you to provide me with everything I need for the lesson ahead of time so that we can make the most of it.
Punctuality - I will be respectful of your time and give you my best during the lesson, with that said I expect the same in return. I am unable to offer any make up time due to lateness. With that said I do understand that life can get hectic, as such I am happy to offer full refunds for cancellations made over 24 hours in advance. Anything less than that and it is out of my hands as per Superprof's T&C's. This includes the initial free lesson I offer.
A polite and positive attitude - I understand that this is an online platform, but I expect the same courtesy you would give to someone in person.

Michael has been great for a teacher. I’ve improved on my writing and speaking.
He goes beyond expectations. It doesn’t stop on teaching you English, it also helps you with sports and tutoring with other aspects on professional growth. It helped that he is a film director and taught me one or two things in acting and performing.
I’ll recommend him for sure .I have been getting boxing lessons with Michael for a considerable amount of time now. Michael always turns up prepared and on time with a positive attitude. Michael is able to explain complex information in a simple way for beginners but also have the sense of when I am ready go progress to the lessons stay challenging but achievable. I have now gone on to compete and begin coaching my own students but I continue to return to Michael for my own development as he is such an expert and full of knowledge
Michael is such a good English teacher, I had to prepare for 3 months the exam to get accepted in a British University, I couldn't find a better native teacher for this. He is very patient and he manages the lessons somehow that makes me improve every day step by step. Any student will be very lucky to have Michael as a teacher. 100% recommend it

Michael is the actual superprof! He is punctual, professional, kind, patient and really really funny. Michael is super easy to talk to and he naturally creates a great atmosphere to always share the most interesting conversations. I have learned so much especially on fluent conversation and overcoming shyness and insecurity when it comes to speaking English. I 1000% recommend!!
