I've had the opportunity to be tutored by James on many occasions. His professionalism, patience and explanations of ideas and concepts are easy to understand. I've had help for first and second year units such as Law in Context, Foundations of Law, Contract and Criminal Law, Interviewing for Advocacy etc etc. He's helped me with the following:

- Grasp concepts of law such as utilitarianism, positive and negative liberties, the rule of law etc.

- Maxims, understand legal writing with grammar and punctuation, flow etc.

- Clean up lecture notes that were previously paragraphs long into more concise critical bullet points.

- Obtain critical cases and legislation and easily explains them whilst not making me feel like I'm a dummy.

- Helped identify issues using the IRAC method for cases.

- James asks questions at the end of each session ensuring I have understood everything.

- Aided me in answering tutorial questions whilst pointing me in the right direction, without directly affecting my learning opportunity by directing providing the answer to the question.

- Helped calm my nervousness by doing a 'dry run' for an interview I was being assessed on for a unit. James also explained the relevance / irrelevance of some of the questions I was asking for the 'dry run'.

- From the outset, James knew I was a slow reader and gave me tasks throughout the week that need to be completed. For example, reading a webpage about the rule of law to understand the concept even further.
