Hi, I’m Rhett, a member of Chartered Accountant Australia and New Zealand with over three years of professional experience in audit and accounting at BDO and Audit New Zealand, and two years as a tutorial assistant at NMIT. I’m passionate about helping students truly understand accounting — not just memorize it. My lessons focus on clear explanations, real-world examples, and building confidence step by step. My Teaching Approach My tutoring approach focuses on clarity, practicality, and confidence-building. I believe accounting is best learned through understanding the “why” behind every concept, not just memorizing formulas. I use a concept-first, example-driven method — breaking down complex accounting principles into simple, real-world examples from my own work experience in audit and accounting. Lessons are interactive, with plenty of problem-solving and discussion to ensure students truly understand each topic. Lesson Structure A typical lesson is 60 minutes, but I can adjust based on the student’s needs (e.g., 45-minute focus sessions or 90-minute exam prep). Each class includes: A quick recap of previous topics Step-by-step explanation of new material Worked examples and guided practice Short review and key takeaways Homework support and additional practice questions are available upon request. Qualifications & Experience I am a member of Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ) with over three years of professional experience in audit and accounting, gained at BDO and Audit New Zealand. My background allows me to bridge the gap between textbook theory and how accounting works in real business settings.
