About Heather
Hey guys, I'm Heather :) I trained at The Royal Central School Of Speech and Drama, and graduated in 2019 with a 1st class BA HONS Degree in Acting. I have since worked professionally in TV, Film, Theatre and Radio, for production companies such as BBC, ITV and SKY. I'm here to share my knowledge and experience with aspiring and fellow actors, to help you get the very best out of your auditions! We all know that auditions can be really scary... My motto is that 90% of nerves come from feeling unprepared. The other 10% is only natural, and we can harness that 10% to fuel our performance. My goal is to take away that 90% of your nerves by helping you feel as prepared and confident as possible.

All my sessions are tailored to your specific needs, we will always begin with a discussion about what you would like to work on and go from there! Below will give you an idea of how a session with me can be structured :) DRAMA SCHOOL AUDITIONS: Step 1: Help you find audition material - Monologues which fit your personality and play to your natural strengths, that also complement and contrast one another, to best showcase your range. Step 2: Work on chosen material - exploring the emotional journey, physicality, breath, vocalisation and pacing. Step 3: Audition Practice - I will ask you to perform the material and then give you re-direction. Taking re-direction is a super important part of the audition process. It's a great skill to practise, so that you feel free to play and explore on the day. SELF-TAPES: Step 1: Figuring out the character - Using the context given in the casting call and in the scene to find the physicality and voice of the character. Including any work required for a specific accent. Step 2: Text analysis - Talking through the text to identify character relationships, motives, reactions and the arc of the scene. STEP 3: Taping - Reading opposite you, to give you something to react off. Trying the scene multiple different ways to find what works best, and give you a range of options to choose from. (I can also give tips on lighting, framing, and equipment to improve self-tape quality)

Heather has been so amazing to work with! This was my second year auditioning for drama schools and I felt so much more confident with my pieces than I did last year. She gave me very clear notes on both my monologues including some tips on the accents for the pieces. As I’m not from the Uk I was very self conscious about it, but she was supportive and clear with her advice and I didn’t even think about it when I was performing in front of the panel. I really felt like I had the space to go deeper with both of my pieces, and it’s made me fall in love with acting even more. Her sessions are focused but fun and I made it to the final few rounds for most of my drama schools of choice, including the shortlist for my top drama school choice. I can’t wait to try for drama school again next year and I’ll definitely be asking for her help again, thank you Heather!
