About Shannon
I am an American certified teacher with a Master's degree in Education and 25 years of experience teaching children, teenagers, and adults in the United States and internationally. I have worked in education in the United States, Canada, Malaysia, the UAE, Greece, and Poland. I enjoy working with students of all ages from different cultural and language backgrounds.

My Teaching Methods: My teaching style is interactive, student-centered, and practical. I don't believe in using exactly the same method with every student. Lessons are adapted according to the student's age, English level, interests, learning style, and goals.
Children: Lessons are active and engaging, using conversation, games, reading, stories, visuals, projects, and subject-based activities. I provide structure while keeping children involved and speaking as much English as possible.
Teenagers: Lessons become more conversational and academically focused. We may work on speaking, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, school subjects, projects, or academic English. I encourage teenagers to express their own ideas and become more independent and confident using English.
Adults: Lessons are practical and based on individual goals. This may include English conversation, Business English, professional communication, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, travel English, or everyday English. For adults who understand English but lack confidence speaking, I place particular emphasis on developing natural conversation and fluency. I correct mistakes when correction is useful, but I don't interrupt every sentence.
My goal is to help students communicate confidently while gradually improving accuracy.
Class Length Typical lessons are 45–60 minutes. Younger children may benefit from shorter lessons, while teenagers and adults can work effectively for 60 minutes or longer, particularly when combining conversation with academic or professional English.
Qualifications
I have: *25 years of experience in education *A Master of Education (M.Ed.) *A Bachelor of Science in Education *Professional teacher certification *Extensive international teaching experience *Experience teaching and developing curriculum for children and teenagers *Experience with English-language learners from a variety of backgrounds *Experience with academic English, subject-based learning, homeschool education, and individualized instruction
I am not simply a conversational English speaker offering English practice—I am an experienced professional educator who can identify learning needs and adapt instruction accordingly.
Who My Classes Are For I work with: Children: Pre-K and school-age learners who are beginning English, developing fluency, need academic support, or want additional English immersion.
Teenagers: Beginner through advanced learners who want to improve conversation, academic English, grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, or their ability to study school subjects in English.
Adults: Beginner through advanced learners who want to improve conversational English, Business English, professional communication, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, or general confidence speaking English.
Lessons are available in person in the Warsaw area or online.
