About Riikka
Professional and effective teaching – for your learning. When you choose a private tutor, you want to be sure that the teacher has the expertise, experience and ability to meet you as an individual. This is exactly what I offer: clear, goal-oriented and high-quality teaching, based on strong pedagogical expertise and a genuine interest in the student's progress. I have studies in Finnish as a second language and I have extensive experience in S2 teaching and integration training. I work professionally with a variety of learners – whether they are beginners, continuing learners or students who need certainty in their Finnish language skills. I also use English as a support language in my teaching, which makes it easier for early learners in particular and clarifies challenging points. If you are supported by another language, we will soon find a common ground. My teaching style is calm, consistent and respectful of the student. I build a personal learning path for each student and make sure that we progress with clear steps towards certain competence. I take care of the high quality of my texts and materials – because learning should be convincing and enjoyable at the same time. By choosing me, you get a teacher who stands behind their competence and who is committed to your goals. I am here for you – to help you succeed.

Students' goals, strengths and challenges are always individual — and therefore learning should also be individual. In my teaching, you are at the center. I build a learning path for each student that suits their needs, which helps them progress purposefully, efficiently and with motivation. My teaching methods combine three things: clearly, inspiringly and practically.
1. Clarity that increases self-confidence
2. An inspiring learning experience
3. Practicality that leads to real and necessary skills.
In private teaching, you will always receive from me:
- an individual plan that is based on your goals
- clear and motivating tasks that lead to progress
- encouraging, patient and professional guidance
- a flexible teaching method that adapts to your life situation
- a genuine interest in your learning Learning is not an achievement - it is a journey. My job is to make it as smooth, encouraging and rewarding as possible for you. If you want to progress more confidently, learn more effectively, and find motivation in a new way, welcome to learn with me. I am happy to teach Finnish at any level.
