About Monica
Pursuing a PhD at UC Berkeley has given me a deep perspective on how to teach complex chemical structures. I have spent 12 years teaching Chemistry by focusing on the core intuition that exams reward. My teaching narrative centers on shifting grades within a term by building a solid foundation first.
I work with 254 students ranging from working professionals and hobbyists to kids and exam prep candidates. Balancing equations or mastering the mole concept becomes manageable when we strip away the noise.
I value clarity over speed. My classroom style is warm and highly motivated. I enjoy seeing students finally grasp concepts they once feared. It is my goal to ensure you feel confident in your own ability to solve problems.

And after we establish the basics, I move into pacing that keeps you engaged without feeling overwhelmed by the sheer volume of content. My background as a PhD candidate at UC Berkeley helps me distill inorganic chemistry and acid base theories into accessible lessons that work for everyone from busy professionals to younger learners.
I provide concept maps for every single chapter to help you visualize how these ideas connect in the real world. Homework help sessions are structured to mirror the practical lab work you might encounter in your own coursework.
My goal is to ensure you feel supported whether we are balancing complex equations or exploring fundamental chemical interactions together. Receiving constant feedback is how we track your progress and ensure we are always moving at the right speed. I have spent 12 years refining these techniques so that even the most struggling students find the path forward. It is truly enjoyable to see you walk away from a session feeling empowered and ready to tackle your next exam.
