About Asmita
I am a multi-faceted visual artist with a profound passion for both water-based and dry mediums. My practice spans the luminous transparency of watercolor and the rich, buttery texture of oil painting, demonstrating a command of light, color, and form across diverse surfaces. Beyond painting, I specialize in the textural depth of pastel art and dry pastel art, achieving vibrant color blends and delicate gradients. Furthermore, I harness the dramatic power of charcoal art to explore contrast, line, and composition, bringing an expressive energy to monochrome works. This versatility allows me to select the perfect medium to convey the unique mood and subject of each piece.

My approach to teaching art centers on fostering individual creativity and building technical skills in a supportive, process-oriented environment. I believe that a hands-on, encouraging atmosphere allows students of all skill levels to feel safe, explore, and take creative risks.
My classroom will prioritize:
Empowerment over perfection: Focusing on the joy of creating, experimenting with materials, and learning from mistakes, rather than striving for a flawless final product.
A foundation of fundamentals: Teaching core concepts like color theory, composition, and the elements of art to provide students with a strong artistic vocabulary.
Exposure to diverse influences: Incorporating different art history movements, culturally significant artwork, and contemporary artists to broaden students' perspectives.
Personal expression: Giving students creative choices within a structured framework, allowing them to connect their art to personal interests and experiences.
