UT Austin graduate teaching guitar and music theory to students of all ages and experience levels.

I have worked with Ian for over a year. Learning music at age 27 has been a huge challenge for me, but Ian did a great job of keeping me motivated and making it fun. He distilled music theory into simple terms and helped me learn songs I never dreamed of playing. Good instructors are able to take difficult concepts and simplify them for their student. Ian did a phenomenal job of this and I can’t recommend him enough.

Ian is an incredibly talented musician and teacher, I cannot recommend him highly enough. He has been teaching my
nine-year-old son who is really starting to blossom.

Ian has an undying passion for music. He has diverse musical talents, as well as a valuable and unique perspective. He is also an exceptionally generous man, self-evidently highly intelligent, joyously outgoing, and steadfastly dependable. He strives to meaningfully grow his students’ knowledge and works until they learn not just some thing, but the right thing. He offers patience, kindness, respect, and seeks to spread joy. These qualities make Ian a great music teacher.
