About Chambers
• As an author and illustrator I won the HW Fisher Prize from the Biographers Club and a Jerwood Award from the Royal Society of Literature. I have been translated into several languages.
• I write books for adults and children published by Faber and Faber, Bloomsbury, OUP and Andersen Press. My writing has appeared in the Guardian, the Times, the London Review of Books and the Spectator.
• My illustrations have appeared in the New Yorker, the Verge and in Thames and Hudson's anthology, THE WRITER'S MAP. Recently I designed a floor for Ely Museum depicting the history of the Fens.
• I have many years' experience supporting school and university students as well as private clients from every background. I'm interested in both academic work and supporting fellow authors on longer projects.

• I usually teach one-to-one and tailor my teaching style to my student. Some prefer lots of structure. Others prefer a more open-ended approach.
• A lesson lasts one hour.
• I've taught students of all ages in schools, universities, businesses and prisons.
• I graduated from Edinburgh University with the top first in English Literature and was a Fulbright Scholar at NYU.
• When I lived in London I was writer-in-residence at Pimlico Academy and Highgate School. I am currently a Royal Literary Fund fellow at Exeter University.
