About Dan
Hi, my name is Dan Green and I am an experienced, UK qualified Architect (ARB / RIBA) with a diverse background in leading projects of varying scales and sectors. I have worked in the construction industry for over twelve years in award-winning architectural practices in London and the South West, prior to founding my own design studio, Splash Architecture. Whilst working for multi-award winning practice FCBStudios, I was project architect for several large residential schemes, achieving planning permission for over 1,500 homes across London and the South-West, over 1000 of which have now been built. During my career, I have tutored students of architecture and design at pre-university, undergraduate, postgraduate and professional (Part III) levels. I have regularly been a Part III Mentor and Architectural Apprentice Tutor, and have been part number of crit panels for student design reviews. I started my architectural education at the University of Plymouth where I was nominated for the RIBA Silver Award for my Part II design project and graduated with both a First Class BA(Hons) Degree and Distinction in Master of Architecture. I qualified as an Architect in 2016 having completed the Part III course with Merit at the University of Westminster.

In my role as a project architect for a top AJ100 practice, I have discovered a passion for teaching and learning through office and architectural apprentice-based mentorship schemes, and wish to continue this role as I foster my own small design studio. I typically advise students through their design projects, design technology, CV and Portfolio, job application and interviews and can assist you to achieve your full potential. My role as a mentor is to support you, help you to find your design language and allow you to forge your own path in this industry. Lessons can be tailored to meet each students’ specific needs, however, below are some ideas of the topics I can cover: Concept Design and Brief Development We can review your design brief, work, and portfolio together, discuss new ideas and strategies to develop your project's narrative. Construction Detailing We can discuss construction detailing and technical aspects of your design. Drawing, Model Making and Presentation Skills We can review your presentation skills and review model making, your drawings and how to improve the representation and quality of your work. CV, Personal Statement and Portfolio Reviews Review of your work or university application to help you find a job or secure a place at university. Essay Writing and Dissertation Reviews We can review essays or your dissertation together to review the content and structure. Part III We can review your Part 3 Case study or talk around the Part III criteria, addressing any specific questions you might have

Could not recommend Dan more as a tutor - he takes a genuine interest in your architectural development and forming your own methodology to designing from a brief.
