About Chris
I'm a writer and a filmmaker, with a focus on literary fiction and human rights documentaries (see (concealed information) I'm also an established film critic (Little White Lies, Sight & Sound, Film International). I was lecturer at Manchester Met from 2016-2022 while completing my PhD, and I'm now a lecturer at Edinburgh Napier.

All my classes are based around student-centred active learning - because we learn best when we're active, not passive, and when learning feels important, interesting and relevant to us. We also learn best when we enjoy learning, so I focus on enjoyment first and foremost. I received a PGCert in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education from Manchester Met in 2018 with Distinction, and have been utilising student-centred active learning as a university lecturer since 2016.
