About Josiah

I am a scientific macro photographer and biology researcher with nearly a decade of experience behind the camera. As a BugShot participant, award-winning photographer, and exhibiting artist, I specialize in revealing the hidden details of insects and natural structures through disciplined technique and intentional lighting. My background in biology gives me a deeper understanding of form, texture, and behavior, allowing me to teach macro photography with both artistic and scientific precision. If you want to master close-up photography with clarity, control, and purpose, I am the right mentor for you.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, direct, and focused on measurable improvement. As a BugShot participant, award winning photographer, and exhibiting artist, I bring both technical discipline and real world experience into every session. I teach students to confidently shoot in manual mode, master light and composition, and build efficient Lightroom workflows. You will receive portfolio level feedback, practical assignments, and clear strategies to elevate your photography beyond snapshots into intentional, professional work.
