About Shay

When I was 13, I bought my first “how to DJ book" . Years later, I’ve built a global career performing everywhere from LA to Berlin.

I’ve been fortunate enough to headline some of the biggest clubs in North America and Europe, including Exchange LA, Superior Ingredients NYC, Coda Toronto, Hardpop Juarez, and Sisyphos Berlin. I’ve been direct support for artists like Bart Skils, Adam Beyer, Eli Brown, Space 92, etc., and will be playing Nocturnal Wonderland and Dreamstate SoCal this fall.

As a touring DJ, you have to really love it to keep going - a huge part of that love is the people that you're lucky enough to connect with. Music can save your life, and the connections you form with others through music will forever change you.

I’ve played on almost every setup out there, and I can teach you how to mix any genre, though I am a techno artist professionally.

If you want a new friend who just happens to have a ton of DJing expertise, don’t hesitate to book a lesson now! As I’m just starting on this platform, rates are reduced currently.

About the lesson

Based in Long Beach, I offer personalized DJ lessons for all levels - from first-time DJs to more advanced artists refining their sound.

My lessons are tailored to your specific goals and style, covering practical, real-world techniques that I use as a touring artist. I use a more hands-on teaching style

Depending on your goals, we can cover:

- DJing: beatmatching, mixing, EQ and effects, transitions, track selection, set flow & music curation, Rekordbox/Serato, CDJs & controllers, club-ready (or warehouse/festival-ready) performance skills

- Career guidance: branding, how to get booked, content tips, confidence & performance mindset (I have leveraged social media to land on festivals such as Dreamstate SoCal and Rave the Planet in Berlin).

Whether you want to play your first gig or a major festival for the first time, I’m here as a friendly face to guide you step by step and help you feel confident in the booth and in your own sound.

Basically everyone is a dj these days. That can make it harder to get booked or stand out. I knew if I stood a chance I needed to learn from someone I already enjoyed as an artist. Shay definitely lived up to expectations, was friendly, explained things in a way that didn’t feel intimidating, and answered all my questions. Feeling complete confidence when you’re at your first dj gig doesn’t have a price!
