I have taught Bridge privately for 5 years in the local area. My students have gone on to enjoy good social Bridge where they play confidently with a good sound knowledge of the basics of play, bidding and scoring. I teach to the ACOL method

I use a textbook which follows ACOL, the most popular of all of the Bridge methods of bidding. We usually play whist first which gives a flavour of the playing of the game and then move onto learning the basics of how to evaluate a hand, both in terms of strength of high cards and also of length and strength of suits in the hand. I like to play a lot of hands, reviewing them as we go through, getting participation from the students in open conversation. Lessons last about 45 minutes.
