About Lian

I’m a guitarist, composer, and educator with a background in jazz and contemporary music. I studied at Berklee College of Music and the Aaron Copland School of Music, graduating with honors. Over the years, I’ve performed internationally and worked with artists like Sherman Robertson and Leo Brouwer. My music blends modern jazz with melodic elements from folk and pop, always rooted in strong harmonic language. As a teacher, I focus on turning theory into creative tools — helping students understand harmony and composition in a way that’s musical, personal, and practical

About the lesson

Unlock the Language of Music
Harmony & Composition Lessons with a Working Musician

Whether you're a curious beginner or an advanced musician wanting to go deeper, these one-on-one lessons are designed to connect theory with practice — and inspiration with structure.

I’m a professional guitarist and composer with a background in jazz and contemporary music. My teaching combines real-world experience with a clear, creative approach to harmony, voice leading, and composition.

What you’ll gain:

A solid understanding of tonal and modal harmony

Tools to write and arrange your own music

Creative strategies for reharmonization and development

Personalized feedback to grow your musical voice

You don’t need to be a theory geek — just bring your curiosity and your sound.

Lessons are online, flexible, and tailored to your goals.
Let’s build your musical foundation — and then break the rules with intention.

Book your first session or send me a message — I’d love to hear about your music.
