About Emily

Hello, I'm Emily. Really glad to meet you here I'm a full-time online Chinese teacher from Suzhou, China. Mandarin Chinese is my native language. I graduated from Soochow University with my master's degree. Before being a Chinese Tutor, I have over 10 years of working experience in the Electronic Manufacturing Service industry as a sales manager. Being familiar with the professional terms related to the manufacturing industry, I have mastered the appropriate and proper business language at different stages of business development, and also am good at reading between the lines in Business Conversations. In my spare time, I like sports, music, and traveling. I like to explore the local cuisine and scenery in a new place. I am the one with: Bilingual teaching in both Chinese and English; Affability and patience; Standard Mandarin pronunciation, no detours in correction of pronunciation; Take you to confidently speak Chinese as a friend instead of teacher;

About the lesson

Whether you're taking your first step into Mandarin or aiming to refine advanced skills, I design lessons specifically to help you achieve your goals. For Absolute Beginners / New Learners: Starting from zero? No problem! With patience and clear guidance, I'll help you build a strong foundation step by step. We'll begin with essential Pinyin pronunciation and core vocabulary, ensuring you learn correctly and confidently from day one. My goal is to make your start smooth and set you up for long-term success. For Intermediate Learners: Ready to level up? I'll carefully assess your current skills, strengths, and areas needing improvement. Our lessons will then focus on developing balanced proficiency across listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We'll target your specific challenges (like tricky grammar, fluency, listening comprehension, or character writing) to help you communicate more effectively and naturally. For Advanced Learners: Need precision targeting? I offer highly specialized programs: Exam Success (HSK/YCT/BCT): Get strategic exam preparation with focused practice, mock tests, and proven techniques to help you reach your target score efficiently. Business & Professional Chinese: Master real-world workplace communication. Lessons are tailor-made for your specific needs – whether it's for meetings, negotiations, presentations, emails, or networking. Learn practical expressions, industry terms, and cultural insights you can use immediately in your job. Specialized Topics (Literature, Culture, Academic): Let's collaborate to design a course that deepens your knowledge in your area of interest.
