Mastering Spanish: From Basics to Fluency
**Levels:** Beginner (A1/A2) & Intermediate (B1/B2)
**Specialties:** Conversational Fluency, Grammar Foundations, & Exam Prep
What Sets Me Apart
I don’t believe in "one-size-fits-all" learning. While many tutors rely on rigid textbook paths, my approach focuses on **Applied Language**.
* **Real-World Context:** We learn the Spanish people *actually* speak, not just classroom phrases.
* **Psychological Comfort:** I specialize in helping students overcome the "speaking barrier" by creating a low-pressure environment where mistakes are celebrated as progress.
* **Cultural Immersion:** Every lesson includes a "Cultural Nugget"—a look at idioms, music, or traditions from across the Spanish-speaking world.
---
My Teaching Method & Techniques
I utilize a **Communicative Approach** blended with **Spaced Repetition**.
* **The 70/30 Rule:** My goal is for you to be speaking 70% of the time, even if you are just starting out.
* **Active Recall:** We use digital flashcards and situational role-play to move vocabulary from your short-term memory to your long-term fluency.
* **Visual & Auditory Tools:** Lessons incorporate short video clips, news articles, and interactive whiteboards to keep engagement high.
---
A Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan
No two lessons are identical, but a standard session follows this flow:
1. **The Warm-Up (10 min):** Casual "cafecito" chat about your day or a recent event to get your brain into Spanish mode.
2. **The Deep Dive (20 min):** Introduction of a new concept (e.g., the Preterite vs. Imperfect tense) using visual examples.
3. **The Practice Lab (20 min):** Interactive exercises, such as describing a short film or debating a light topic, to apply the new concept immediately.
4. **Wrap-Up & Feedback (10 min):** Summary of key wins, corrections for common errors made during the session, and a preview of our next goal.
