About Nathan

I've spent 18 years learning French and the last 5 tutoring high school students, covering everything from intro coursework to AP-level material. I teach in English, which makes it easier to break down tricky grammar, explain the reasoning behind a rule, and meet students where they actually are instead of leaving them to guess.

About the lesson

Every student gets a lesson built around what they actually need. Whether that's catching up on a unit, prepping for a test, polishing pronunciation, or just getting more comfortable speaking. I'll work through your existing coursework with you, and I can also bring in outside reading and listening material (short stories, articles, songs) to deepen your skills beyond the classroom. Scheduling is open and easy to work around school, sports, or work.

I’ve been taking French lessons with Nathan for a few months and I genuinely can’t recommend him enough. He has this this gift for breaking down tricky grammar in a way that actually clicks, and every session is tailored to what I’m struggling with that week. Patient, encouraging, and never once made me feel dumb for asking the same question three times. Lessons feel less like a class and more like chatting with a friend who happens to speak fluent French. My confidence has gone through the roof.

Nathan was a very helpful tutor who was concise yet detailed. Through a multitude of lessons I was actually able to hold a conversation when I went on a business trip to Paris with one of the locals. I could not thank him enough for all of his help and would definitely recommend for all levels of French.
