In the past, I have given lessons to underclassmen attending my university. I base my classes on student needs, focusing on areas they are most struggling with and adapting instruction methods to meet their learning styles. I tend to explain things using metaphors to help the students compare biology principles to their everyday lives to provide a more in depth understanding.
