My teaching methodology is centered around creating an engaging, supportive, and scientifically backed learning environment. I believe that every student learns differently, so I incorporate a range of research-based techniques to ensure the most effective understanding of complex biological concepts. These techniques include active recall, spaced repetition, interactive learning using visual aids, and asking thought-provoking questions.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-up/Review (5-10 minutes): We start with a quick review of the previous lesson or concepts to reinforce learning and address any gaps.
2. Introduction to New Topic (15-20 minutes): Using a mix of explanation and interactive activities, I introduce new content in a clear and engaging way. This may include diagrams, short videos, or real-life applications to connect the material to students' everyday experiences.
3. Practice & Application (15-20 minutes): I guide students through practice problems, exercises, or experiments to apply what they've learned.
4. Summarization & Reflection (5-10 minutes): At the end of the lesson, we recap key takeaways and I encourage students to reflect on what they learned. This is followed by setting up any homework or further reading.
My lessons are designed for elementary and high school students studying biology, whether they are preparing for exams, working on homework, or simply seeking to improve their understanding of the subject. I work with students at various levels, from those just starting to learn about biology to those preparing for advanced courses.
