About Xin
Hi! I’m Xin, a friendly and dedicated tutor with a background in Biomedical Engineering from Imperial College London and research experience in biomedical science and biotechnology.
I offer tutoring in Mathematics, Biology, and Mandarin, and I particularly enjoy helping students turn difficult concepts into something clear, structured, and manageable.
My approach is personalised to each student. I first identify their current level, areas they find challenging, and their goals, then adapt lessons accordingly. I also understand that students learn at different paces and in different ways, so I am patient and happy to revisit concepts from different angles until they make sense.
For Mandarin, I can also help students develop their confidence with vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, reading, and everyday communication.
Most importantly, I want my students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something better than they did before and are more confident tackling it independently.

I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind a concept rather than simply memorising an answer, so I focus on clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of guided practice. I typically offer 60-minute lessons, but I am happy to adapt the length depending on the student’s age, level, and learning goals. I also provide feedback and suggest areas to review between lessons where appropriate. I have a strong academic background in quantitative and analytical subjects. I am happy to work with students from different ages and ability levels, particularly those preparing for school exams or looking to strengthen their foundations in Mathematics, Biology or Mandarin. :)
