About Zahra
Hi! My name is Zahra and I’m a biology and biotechnology tutor with an undergraduate background from York University and I’m currently completing my Master’s degree in the United States. I have a strong research and lab foundation and enjoy helping students break down complex scientific concepts into ideas that actually make sense. I focus on understanding rather than memorization, using clear explanations and real examples to build confidence and independence in learning. Outside of academics, I love watching movies, working on creative art projects, reading, and traveling

I use a concept-focused, interactive teaching approach that emphasizes understanding over memorization. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and typically include a brief review of key concepts, guided problem-solving or application to coursework, and clear takeaways for independent study. What sets me apart is my research and lab background, which allows me to explain complex biological and biomedical topics in a clear, intuitive way and connect coursework to real scientific practice. I work with undergraduate and early graduate students in biology, biotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and related fields, including pre-med and research-focused students needing support with exams, lab reports, data analysis, or scientific literature.

Zahra is the best tutor I have ever worked with. I had been struggling with writing persuasive essays, but thanks to Zahra, I am now able to do so! She gives great feedback on how to improve and I have genuinely learned a lot!
Zahra is an incredible teacher. My daughter has been struggling with the concepts of trigonometry for a while now. After a few consistent lessons with Zahra, my daughter showed full understanding and was able to pass her test with full marks! Will be continuing to work with Zahra to stay ahead in class.
Zahra tutored me when I was new to Canada and struggling with English. Zahra is a reliable teacher, she always takes the time to go over my weaknesses and is great at what she does. I never feel rushed, or embarrassed. I’m proud of the growth I have had with Zahra as my teacher. I would recommend her to any future student.
My son was having a ton of trouble with grade 6 Math. Thanks to Zahra he was able to catch up in class and began performing much better! I would highly recommend Zahra as a teacher.
