About Katie
I have been a Primary School Teacher for 15 years. I am currently an Assistant Headteacher as well and lead on Reading, writing, phonics, speaking and listening and Early years. I also work as a moderator for a nearby local authority so I have an in-depth knowledge of the expectations for children’s expected outcomes at the end of Reception, Year 2 and Year 6.
I have taught from Reception all the way up to Year 6 and love helping children to make progress in their learning.
I am warm, friendly and supportive. I believe that children must grow to love learning to do the best they can in their academic careers, so I will always strive to make my sessions interesting and inject as much fun as possible.

My tutoring is highly personalised to the needs of your child. I will look at their starting points and plan accordingly.
Lesson lengths will vary with age of pupil and I try to engage and enthuse pupils with interesting lessons. I want children to improve in their skills and knowledge, whilst growing their love of learning!
I am able to tutor pupils from 4-11 in any area within the Primary Curriculum. Whether it be reading, writing, phonics, maths etc.

Perfect! Her methodology, her knowledge of the curriculum
Perfect! Katie has been absolutely fantastic with my son. He has been doing lessons for over a month with her and kept him engaged. He’s found a motivation to learn with her which he’s never had before. Katie’s lessons are fun, interactive and she varies her techniques to suit the child. She is always on time and goes above and beyond during her sessions. Thank you for everything, Katie!!

Katie worked 1-1 with my son to help him with his reading! He really enjoyed these sessions and improved so much. He definitely benefited from the 1-1 attention that his teacher just can’t give him! Thank you! Would definitely recommend Katie to anyone with a primary school aged child looking for an extra boost!
Katie tutored my stepson who was struggling with his writing in year 2. He hated writing and his handwriting needed lots of attention. But after a few sessions we started to see a difference. He really enjoyed the sessions too as she planned for him to write about things that he was interested in like football and computer games! We were surprised how engaged he was!
Katie tutored my son in phonics. He loved the fun activities Katie planned and looked forward to his lesson every week! He has made fantastic progress in his reading! Katie is exceptional in her approach and I find that my son responds to her fantastic patient manner. She is so engaging. She makes learning fun and he is making strides.
Katie tutored my daughter who was struggling with her maths lessons in Year 3. My daughter loved the sessions and is now so much more confident in her maths lessons in school!
