About Vikash

I am Vikash, a Physics graduate and a former PhD candidate in Theoretical Biology. With my ventures in science and research I have developed a passion for questions and a knack for solving them with Maths and Physics. I have a creative and inquiring mind. I love to ask questions and try to answer them from first principles. In my teaching I try to foster this hands-on, ab initio approach to engage students. I try to emphasise and help them realise that the answers we have now (given in textbooks) were thought of by someone from scratch and it is this method that I encourage in students, to be able to rationalise and explain ideas without resorting to memory. I am very approachable and love to interact and challenge students to come up with their own explanations. The classes aim to stimulate and create questions in the minds of students. I believe the starting point of all learning is a genuine question and unwavering interest. If that is you, come join the classes and start on a journey that is worthy of your time.

About the lesson

I have a passion for Physics and its cousin Maths. With over 7 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant as well as a private tutor, I have discovered the problems that students face while encountering Physics and Maths concepts. I focus on creating a question-based approach to tutoring. Each lesson starts with a few key questions that are answered in the session. The focus is on building intuition and understanding, rather than memorising definitions or formulae. Lessons are typically 1hr sessions, with a short quiz to test previous ideas learnt (10 minutes) 45 minutes of tutoring followed by review and a little homework. The courses I teach are at the level of middle and high school. I teach Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Calculus and all the Physics topics till High School. For interested and ambitious students I also have specific higher level material and question sets that can be taught to enhance understanding or build on the ideas covered as part of the standard curriculum. I also train students preparing for competitive exams in Maths, specifically AMC and UKMT for all levels. I also teach undergrads in Physics and Maths so don't worry if you are looking for some advanced training. I can teach university level Physics and Maths.

As a mother, I wholeheartedly recommend Vikash's physics teacher. From the beginning, it was clear that this teacher genuinely cares about his students' success. Vikash has always found physics challenging, but since joining this class, I've seen a remarkable transformation in his understanding and confidence.

The teacher's approach is patient and encouraging, making complex concepts easier to grasp. He uses relatable examples and hands-on activities that truly engage the students. I appreciate how he tailors his teaching to meet the individual needs of each student, ensuring no one is left behind.

Moreover, the support and communication with parents are outstanding. I feel informed and involved in Vikash's progress, which is invaluable. This teacher has not only helped Vikash improve academically but has also fostered a love for learning in him. I am so grateful for the positive impact he has had on my son’s education, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

I discovered Vikash while searching for a math tutor on the Teacheron platform, as I was looking to switch my daughter’s math teacher. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that he teaches math as well. He is an incredibly intelligent and kind-hearted person. My daughter really enjoys his classes and privately refers to him as “the handsome teacher,” although that’s not the reason she likes his lessons! I later recommended him to many other parents, all of whom have given very positive feedback. I highly recommend trying his classes!

Additionally, my daughter is also his student and she really enjoys his teaching style. He excels in teaching mathematics and physics, from lower grades to higher grades. Highly recommended!
