About Las
My teaching background is quite broad, for I have taught young people in three different countries and across various different subjects. It began during my first degree (sociology) which included a year’s work teaching English in France. I have worked with students under the UK Curriculum (11+, GCSE, A-LEVEL, Common Entrance students) from a variety of backgrounds, as well as those with learning disabilities. I enjoy the challenge of finding a different solution for each individual’s problems, and it is in the reciprocal nature of teaching that I find rewarding experiences each day. I believe my own culturally diverse background and open personality make it relatively easy for a large body of students to connect with me and vice versa. My talent is developing inspiring hands-on lessons that will capture a student's imagination and breed success.

My teaching method is a combination of different forms of learning. I employ tactile learning or hands-on learning, kinaesthetic learning based on the idea of multiple intelligence. I require my students to do, make and create. In a kinaesthetic learning environment, my students perform physical activities rather than listen to me lecture them and watch demonstrations. Hands-on experiences, drawing, role-play, building, and the use of drama and sports are all examples of my teaching activities. As a tutor, my primary role is to coach and facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of material, and to measure this through both formal and informal forms of assessment, like group projects, student portfolios, and constant feedback. I make sure my teaching is student-centred, with teaching and assessment both connected, because student learning will be continuously measured during my tutoring sessions. I also employ technology-based teaching to encourage students to develop critical thinking skills, research and analysis. Lessons are enhanced through the integration of innovative educational technology (i.e. Google Drive, iPad, Ms Office etc).

I am writing to recommend Las as a tutor for your child. She was great with my daughter and really helped her with getting a higher grade when she had to resit her business studies A-level exam. I really couldn't be happier, as my daughter went from hating the subject to actually passing the second time around. I couldn't be happier, which is why I feel happy to write this confidently and I have also recommended her to friends whose children need that extra academic support!
I am so happy with this tutor as she was really great with my daughter. I can see all the progress she has made so far and I am glad to have chosen Las, as my daughter didn't like her first tutor.
I had Las help me out with the writing and construction of my Political Science dissertation. She was really helpful and really knew the subject in depth and she helped me to redraft my whole project!! This was so helpful, as she knew what the examiners were looking for.
Las, helped me with my English language written and speaking comprehension. I am not a native English speaker so I found it difficult with grammar, punctuation and spelling. I am also dyslexic. She was very patient and helped me develop my multi-sensory language skills, which helped me with reading and writing much quicker.

Las was a really good tutor. She helped me with my Business Studies A- Level exams revisions and it was a breeze. What I really enjoyed was that she used modern examples as well as mixture of media in the learning process. I can promise that you will learn a be have fun at the same time.
