About Jules
Hi, I'm Jules, a second year medical student at Cambridge. Having earned a First Class mark in my first year, and with strong previous academic performance, I aim to bring both subject expertise and an engaging, supportive approach to every session. Over the past two years, I’ve guided students through the medical school application process, keeping my knowledge of admissions policies and expectations thoroughly up to date.
I have helped students achieve section averages above 820 in their UCAT, and have helped boost scores in weakest sections to 800+ and Band 2/3 SJT scores to Band 1 (98th Percentile). All of my students so far have achieved section averages above 790.
I have particular expertise in: UCAT, helping students find + research stand-out supercurriculars; medical ethics; and tactical applications to medical school (including with high UCAT scores).
I achieved:
- 3360 (840 average) B1 UCAT placing me in the top < 0.1% of test takers
- 4/4 Medical School offers, including from Cambridge and Edinburgh
- A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Maths A-levels - averaging 10% above the A* grade boundary

I use a highly effective, personalized teaching approach designed to meet each student’s unique needs. By starting with a thorough assessment, I identify strengths and areas for improvement to craft a targeted lesson plan that emphasizes exam techniques and consistent practice. With focused exam practice and tailored homework, my method ensures students build confidence, master core concepts, and achieve outstanding academic results.
I am happy to focus on a single aspect of the medical school application process with a student, or to help them across a wide range of areas. My lessons tend to be 1-2hrs once per week, but I am happy to offer alternatives, including more frequent sessions in a 'crash-course' style.

Perfect! Jules is tutoring me for the UCAT exam. He is friendly, knowledgeable, methodical and his lessons are very engaging. I am noticing that I am making progress after each lesson. I would thoroughly recommend Jules to anyone looking for a UCAT tutor.
Perfect! Jules has been incredibly helpful throughout my UCAT preparation. In just a few lessons, he significantly boosted my scores in Verbal Reasoning and Situational Judgement. He also provided valuable background reading to deepen my understanding of Situational Judgement, which made a real difference.
What I appreciated most is his honest and down-to-earth approach—he never pushes for unnecessary lessons and gives you a clear picture of where you stand. Hearing about his experiences at Cambridge Medicine was genuinely inspiring, and I’m excited to continue working with him on the rest of my application.View more reviews

Jules listened carefully when I discussed what grades I was aiming for and then helped me work towards them. He is a really patient and pleasant teacher. He took the time to understand where it was that I needed help, and was happy to go over those areas until I really knew them. It's made a difference to my scores and that's been a great bonus. Thanks!
Jules has a kind and welcoming approach and explained the topics we needed in such a clear and understandable way. As well as his excellent knowledge he knows how to teach, and make the subject interesting.
I have found Jules to be an excellent tutor. His patience and thoroughness, combined with a top-quality knowledge of the subject, means he can explain difficult concepts and provide clarity where needed. His skills have been invaluable to us.
