About Camilla
I am a passionate, creative and enthusiastic primary school teacher qualified to teach all primary year groups from year 1 to year 6. I have had experience in teaching all KS1 subjects, including preparing children for their KS1 SATs tests and have taught year 3 and 4. Currently I am Maths subject lead in the school I work at and have been accepted to become a Key Stage 1 SATS moderator for the Borough. I have experience of teaching children with a range of SEN including autism, ADHD and behavioural and emotional difficulties.
I have been tutoring for over 4 years for a number of children ranging from year 1 to year 6 supporting them in their maths, reading and writing, phonics as well as well as their homework.
I strongly believe in creating engaging and interactive lessons that cater for the needs of all children, ensuring that they are supported and challenged through the subject material. I will bring the same creative and interactive environment to the tutoring sessions that will deepen the child’s understanding of the concepts taught.
I was awarded the highest possible primary teaching qualification through Canterbury Christ Church University and the Teach First programme. I also have a 2.1 Honours degree in International Relations and International Development from the University of Leeds.
I am keen to use my experience and passion to support children in grasping misconceptions and difficulties or supporting them to extend and challenge their learning so that they reach their individual potential.
I am DBS checked.

Lessons are engaging with a focus on depth rather than breadth. Once the children has an understanding of the concept being taught, I move them onto a deeper understanding of the concept by using problem solving or putting the concept into a different context. I use concrete and pictoral resources to support their understanding as well as games to support the children's love of learning.
I have PGCE and QTS qualifications to teach primary maths and have over 6 years of experience teaching in the classroom and as a tutor.
Lessons are around 45 mins but this is open to discussion depending on the child.
