Carnatic vocal tutor with experience specialising in structured foundations and UK-based exam and certification preparation

I am pleased to recommend Madhavi as a Carnatic music teacher. She has a deep passion for Carnatic music and is dedicated to preserving and sharing this rich classical tradition with her students. Alongside teaching, she continues to actively learn and hone her own musical skills, demonstrating a strong commitment to lifelong learning and artistic excellence. Madhavi combines solid musical knowledge with patience, discipline, and an engaging teaching style that helps students build both technical proficiency and a genuine love for music. Her ability to connect with learners of all ages, explain concepts clearly, and inspire confidence makes her an exceptional teacher and mentor. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, dedicated, and inspiring Carnatic music teacher.

I have known Madhvi for some time and have always admired her passion for music and singing. She is a warm, patient and encouraging person who makes you feel comfortable and confident, even if you are just beginning your singing journey.

Madhvi has also taught my daughter Anika, who is only seven years old, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. She was wonderful with Anika — patient, encouraging and very gentle in the way she taught her. Anika always felt comfortable during her lessons and really enjoyed learning with her.

Madhvi has a lovely way of keeping a young child engaged while still helping them learn and improve. She made singing feel fun and exciting, and we could see Anika’s confidence growing through the lessons.

I would genuinely recommend Madhvi to anyone looking for a singing teacher, especially for children. She is caring, approachable and clearly passionate about what she does. We’re very grateful for the lovely experience she gave Anika. ️

I know Madhvi as my Carnatic vocal teacher, and learning from her has been a truly wonderful experience. She is an outstanding teacher who has an exceptional understanding of Carnatic music and, more importantly, knows how to communicate that knowledge in a clear and meaningful way.
What makes Madhvi such a special Superprof is the thought and reasoning she brings into every lesson. She doesn’t simply teach you what to sing; she explains how to sing it, why it should be sung in a particular way, and what difference each approach makes to the voice, the music, and the overall experience of singing. She always has a logical and insightful explanation behind what she teaches, which has helped me understand the art much more deeply rather than just learning by repetition.
I have personally come a very long way in a relatively short time with her guidance. Every lesson has helped me build not only my singing skills but also a much better understanding and appreciation of Carnatic music. She is patient, knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in her student’s progress.
I have immense respect for Madhvi as a teacher and as a person, and I feel very fortunate to be learning from her. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Carnatic vocal. She is the kind of teacher who can make you feel that you are not just learning songs, but truly learning the art and understanding the reasoning behind it.
