About Isaiah
When you study with me, not only do you get the experience I have of fostering dozens of cellists of all ages, but also you have access to years of my own experience training with the worlds top classical musicians. I often hear people say, “I’m just not musically inclined,” but I genuinely believe that anyone can learn to become a great musician with the right teacher. I have spent nearly my whole life perfecting my craft, and it is my sincere joy to share my love for this instrument with all my students. I incorporate my rigorous training in the rich tradition of this instrument with extensive study of modern teaching methods to bring you the most comprehensive approach to learning the cello.

Learning the cello is an investment, and it is one I strive to make worth your while by making lessons an enjoyable and enriching experience. Lessons with me are engaging, fast-paced, and applicable. I break down every new skill we learn on the instrument into clearly sequenced steps that make it easy for you to learn. In addition, I provide you with a recording of every lesson so that you can watch it back at your convenience and never have to worry about forgetting details! I teach students from age 4 to senior adults, and I have significant experience teaching special needs students. I use professional A/V equipment to make virtual lessons as effective as in-person. I provide all our lesson materials and strive to make learning the cello as affordable and convenient as it will be exciting and rewarding!

I highly recommend Isaiah. Not only is he a very accomplished cellist and thoughtful teacher, he explains technique and musicianship in easy to understand/apply terms. He helps you see the big picture of a piece while attending to the important details ... like building blocks. He is encouraging and challenging at the same time. His personality is warm and easy. As a parent I have seen my son grow under his tutelage.
Isaiah is the ideal teacher for any student looking to learn cello. In my experience with Isaiah, I have grown exponentially in such a short time. We’ve only worked together for a few months but I’ve already progressed further than I had in the years prior to working with him. In each of our lessons Isaiah comes prepared with materials and goals for us to work on together. His positive attitude is so encouraging it keeps me inspired to continue. Plus, his prices are very affordable given the high quality of his teaching ability and background! I could not recommend Isaiah more to anyone looking for a cello teacher. He’s an absolute joy!
Isaiah is a gifted teaching artist. Not only is he a great performer, he is also an excellent teacher. He has much teaching experience with students of all levels and ages and is an engaging and inspiring teacher. He brings out the joy of music and I would highly recommend him for anyone looking to learn cello.
Isaiah is great with kids and is very patient and kind. He is always respectful and has obviously has a great deal of passion for the cello and for teaching the cello. Isaiah is a wonderful musician and teacher, and I couldn't recommend a better instructor.
