About Hongyan
Hi! I’m Hongyan, a certified yoga teacher with over 3 years of experience guiding both private 1-on-1 sessions and group classes. Having previously taught in studio settings across Thailand and China, I have recently relocated to Newcastle and am excited to build a local community of practitioners here.
My approach to yoga is rooted in the belief that movement should empower you, ground you, and feel completely accessible—no matter where you are starting from. Having taught students ranging from complete beginners to experienced practitioners, I love helping people connect with their bodies in a way that builds strength, releases physical tension, and restores mental clarity.
Whether you want to build core stability, improve flexibility, or simply carve out a peaceful hour to de-stress from a busy week, I create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can move safely and practice at your own pace.

Movement should feel good, never forced. I offer clear, gentle cues and friendly modifications so you can build confidence, protect your joints, and honour your body exactly as it is today.
How Our Sessions Work:
Check-In (5 mins): We start with a brief check-in to see how your body feels that day and discuss any areas of tightness, energy levels, or goals.
Tailored Practice (45 mins): Your choice of energetic Vinyasa flow, aligned Hatha work, or deeply relaxing Yin postures.
Guided Relaxation & Savasana (10 mins): A gentle wrap-up to calm your nervous system and leave you feeling completely refreshed.
