About Shellin
Hi there! I'm a biology enthusiast with a bachelor's degree. I'm crazy about plants and animals and even collect plants as a hobby. At home, I have two adorable dogs, a friendly cat, and a bunch of chickens adding joy to my life.
I've spent time teaching both high school and middle school for a total of 5 years, and I've been a tutor for more than 10 years. Working with kids is something I truly enjoy!
I've had the chance to live in Texas, Colorado, and California, each place adding its own unique flavor to my life. I'm a proud alumni of Colorado State University, and back in high school, I was in the top 10% of my class.
In my free time, I'm all about fun! I play soccer and volleyball just for the love of the game. And oh, did I mention I'm a huge fan of all things Disney? Yep, Disney magic never gets old for me!

My lessons combine multiple types of teaching from diagrams, videos and step by step explanations. With 5+ years of classroom experience, I can explain topics in a variety of ways to further student understanding. I use easy to understand language and rephrase if a student does not understand. My lessons are geared towards middle and high school level students. A typical science lesson will go over key concepts and vocabulary and end with a few practice questions. Math lessons review concepts and steps and then mainly focus on working through questions together.
