About Katie
I have had extensive training in nursing-related science (anatomy, physiology, pharmacology) and public health courses. I have a B.S. in Global Health Studies from the University of Southern California and a BSN and MSN from Emory University. I have experience as an Emergency Nurse and am now a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I received a lot of coaching on writing college essays and was admitted to 12 colleges coming out of high school. I enjoy helping students brainstorm ideas and craft essays that resonate with college admissions officers to help get them into the school of their dreams!

I love helping students become confident in topics that have previously intimidated them. I focus on understanding what style of learning works best for my student and adapt my teaching style to fit their needs. I pride myself on being able to explain a topic in multiple ways and my ability to rephrase challenging concepts in a way that students can understand and relate to. I want my students to understand both the “what” and the “why” so they can solidify information rather than memorize and regurgitate concepts without truly learning them. Most importantly, I strive to create a safe space for students to ask questions freely and learn without fear of judgement.
