About McKenna
Hello! My name is McKenna Wolverton, and I am a dedicated and passionate educator with a Bachelor of Science in K-12 Health and Physical Education from Rowan University. With years of experience teaching multiple subjects in diverse settings, including elementary through middle school, I have developed a teaching approach that is focused on fostering academic and personal growth. I am known for creating engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. My experience includes both in-person and remote teaching, having successfully navigated the challenges of online instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic while maintaining student engagement and motivation. I hold a New Jersey K-12 Health and Physical Education CEAS certification, along with a Driver Education Endorsement and a Certified Substitute Teacher qualification. I also have specialized training through Penn State Extension, which further informs my approach to child development and safety. Whether working in small groups, one-on-one, or in whole-class settings, I focus on building a positive, inclusive environment where students feel respected and supported. I am committed to helping my students achieve their academic and personal goals, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed for success both inside and outside the classroom. As a tutor, I focus on creating a personalized learning experience that accommodates each student’s unique needs and learning style. I employ a mix of visual, auditory, and hands-on techniques to ensure concepts are grasped from multiple perspectives. For a typical lesson plan, I begin with an assessment to gauge the student’s understanding, followed by an introduction to the lesson’s objectives.
