About Ashinique
The energy I bring to my lessons, is a huge part of why my students enjoy my teaching style and keep coming back for lessons. I enjoy teaching! :D I was also born and raised in NYC. Boogie Down Bronx Gyal!
My students make major progress, in just a few lessons and on average learn around 3-4 new words EACH lesson, as well as focused grammar and phonetic concepts! English is my native language, I can speak French B1 and Spanish A2 too, so im still learning, just like you.
I've gotten the opportunity to teach people from all over the world! Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Uzbekistan, Switzerland and even France!
I have a bachelors degree with a double major in History and Global Studies as well as a double minor in Psychology and French! I am also TEFL certified through ITA and have 3 years experience in private tutoring
I'm a very patient person by nature and when it comes to teaching (and learning), this is a skill that one MUST have and one that is often overlooked. I want you to be open, and gain confidence, no matter your English proficiency, no matter your skill level, because we all have to start somewhere. I hope to see you soon! :D

My approach to teaching English involves a combination of traditional and new methods, while staying centered on you. Your voice is what matters most. This is about YOU! My lessons are interactive, fun, and will motivate you to continue learning and practicing OUTSIDE of the lesson. I also love to end my lessons with a Wordle >:D
The different nuances of English are sometimes missed in a more formal setting, and oftentimes these nuances aren't taught, but I make sure to teach these things :D English is spoken in so many different ways across the United States, accents, dialect, lingo, and culture all affect how one speaks. I keep my notebook handy with all important notes and I encourage my students to keep a notebook as well. The impact that writing has on speaking is IMPORTANT! My lessons will challenge you and really motivate you to speak! In fact, I encourage my students to YAP, this is how your brain will build those phonetic connections and reinforce what you know!
From basic to advanced levels, I've created lessons that will teach you something new each time. I’m here to help you reach YOUR language goals. :D We can focus on reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, all while building your listening skills as well! The lessons will be catered to YOUR goals and specific needs. I'll help you get there. Again, I hope to see you soon! ^~^

Perfect! Strenght : kindness, adaptability to my level and disponibility.
- Maxime!!! You truly surprised me with how quickly you were able to understand the differences between past simple and past continuous. Especially with conjugating the verbs! You were correcting your own errors in real time and that was amazing to see! Keep it up, practice what you know, and continue to build your vocabulary with the new things we've learned! You're an amazing student to have :DAshinique's response :
Perfect! Learning English with Ashinique is genuinely enjoyable. With her warm, open, and intuitive approach, she creates a comfortable learning environment right away and quickly adapts to your individual level and needs.
What I especially appreciated were our conversations—engaging, inspiring, and often enriched with fascinating insights into life in New York. Compared to more traditional English lessons, her sessions felt far more dynamic, personal, and frequently filled with humor.
I truly value her teaching style and highly recommend Ashinique to anyone looking to improve their English in a motivating, authentic, and professional way.- Ramona, you've impressed me with your diligence towards improving your English. The way you quickly grasp a new word or concept (such as working on prepositions) is something you should be proud of. Not only do you take notes, but you absorb them! I've seen you challenge yourself by USING the concepts I've helped you improve on in real time. It's been such a pleasure to have you as my student!Ashinique's response :
Perfect! It's so great to learn English with Ashinique! We talk a lot and we have a lot of fun :) Which is perfect to learn a language and in my case to improve my level, to precise my pronunciation and to develop my vocabulary. More than that, she's also a very nice person and I appreciate a lot the time we spend together! Thank you
- Each week, I am impressed with how quickly you catch on to new words and concepts! We've been meeting consistently for two weeks now and I'm so excited every time we meet!! Don't forget, reading and writing can be tools to help you excel even further, and I'm so glad to be on this journey with you!Ashinique's response :
Perfect! Ashnique was a perfect English tutor. She understood my needs and responded with great competence. Her strength lies in her spontaneity and friendliness, which immediately made me feel at ease and allowed me to discover aspects of the language, culture, and the city of New York that I would never have encountered in a regular language course. She is highly recommended for anyone who wants not only to speak English correctly but also to explore often overlooked parts of the culture and to engage in conversation with someone attentive, curious, and full of personality.
- Your laughter is infectious and I love your inquisitive nature, our first two lessons have been great thus far! I can’t wait to see how you progress!Ashinique's response :
Perfect! It’s been a year working with Ashinique. It’s been such a nice journey. If you need help with your English, I would definitely recommend her. And it’s always fun!
- You came ready to learn, with clear goals. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, this is how we learn!Ashinique's response :
