About Lisa H

Hallo! I’m Lisa, a high school German teacher and heritage German speaker who moved to the United States from Germany as a child. Learning English and studying other languages myself has shaped my patient, encouraging approach to teaching.

I hold bachelor’s degrees in German and Political Science, minors in Japanese and International Business, and a master’s in ESL. I’m also completing a second master’s in Teaching German as a Foreign Language.

I teach German 1–4, including Honors and online courses, advise German Club, and coordinate a German-American student exchange. I love helping learners build confidence and connect with German language and culture, whether for school, travel, or personal enjoyment.

About the lesson

I’m a German high school teacher and heritage German speaker with experience teaching German 1–4, including Honors and online courses for 6 years. I hold bachelor’s degrees in German and Political Science, minors in Japanese and International Business, and a master’s degree in ESL. I’m also completing a second master’s degree in Teaching German as a Foreign Language, with graduation anticipated in December 2026.
I enjoy bringing language and culture together. My own experience learning English and studying other languages helps me understand learners’ challenges. I offer personalized lessons for students and adults, including homework support, grammar, conversation, and German for travel.
