Hi there!
These classes are meant for beginners of any age, who are wanting to start to learn the basic fundamentals of chess. Each class will be 1 hour long.
For those who completely don't know how to play, I will start by explaining how to pieces move, and which pieces have more value than other pieces. For those with an understanding of moving the pieces, I will be teaching 3 different phases of a chess game;
-The opening: I will teach my students to develop pieces at the start, and why that is important. I will also be teaching my students the. importance of controlling the center at the start of the game.
-The middle game: I will mainly focus on tactics here by starting off with simple tactics, aiding them with a few tactics at first, then letting them try to solve a few. Over time, the tactics will get increasingly harder, and the student will find it easier to spot tactics in the middle game.
-The endgame: I will focus on basic checkmates, pawn structures, and how to promote pawns into queens. After we progress and have an understanding of this, I will stat teaching basic positions in the endgame.
All my classes will focus on many new topics, which we will revise in the net class before moving onto something new.
