In a chess lesson, we begin by looking at your current level and recent games to see what’s working and where you can improve. We practice tactics, focusing on common patterns and solving puzzles that match your skill level. We also review a game to find important moments where things went right or wrong. If you have a favorite opening, we go over it and discuss key ideas. In the middlegame, we talk about important concepts like piece activity and planning. We also cover simple endgame techniques, like how to win with just a king and pawn. Finally, I’ll give you homework, such as puzzles or game reviews, to help reinforce what we covered.
