About Nicholas

I have been involved in competitive chess from a young age and in my adult life have achieved a FIDE Blitz rating of 1910 and Lichess Bullet rating of 2200. In addition to coaching chess part-time for the last five years, I have also published two courses on opening theory for Chessable, one of the premier sites for online chess learning.

About the lesson

I have experience with a wide range of ages and skill levels and can cater lessons for those brand new to the game or more experienced players looking to compete in an online, club or tournament setting. I really enjoy seeing concepts click with my students and will try a wide range of approaches to connect with your learning style.I typically put a high degree of emphasis on hands on learning and will have the student practice techniques in the first half of the session before putting the knowledge to use in the second half.
