About Ka Hei
Being a classically trained clarinetist in New York and Hong Kong, I have been an enthusiastic soloist, orchestral musician and teacher. I received my Master of Music degree at the Manhattan School of Music, under the tutelage of Charles Neidich, and my Bachelor of Arts degree at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, studying with Andrew Simon. I was the winner of 2022 Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition and International Music Competition London ‘Grand Prize Virtuoso’. With more than 5 years of clarinet and music theory teaching, I have been giving group clarinet classes in Music Centres, Primary and Secondary schools. I also have been providing individual clarinet lessons, both in person and online.

Take your opportunity to start or continue your clarinet journey with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher! I believe the enjoyment of music making and appreciation shall be the No. 1 priority for my students in order to enjoy playing the clarinet. The lessons will be well-balanced between the focus of developing technical ability and cultivating musicality, along with a joyous atmosphere to keep the students engaged in lessons. Willing to switch between languages in lessons for students to understand guidance clearly.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Kahei as our child’s clarinet teacher. He is not only highly skilled as a musician, but also a patient and thoughtful educator. Each lesson is well structured, and he always takes the time to understand our child’s learning pace and tailor his teaching accordingly.
We highly recommend Kahei to any family looking for an inspiring and dedicated music teacher.Ka Hei is a very experienced and passionate teacher for both clarinet and saxophone. His patience and friendliness make him a popular choice among many woodwind instructors.
Excellent teacher, with great experiences in ensembles, orchestras and solo. Also, very kind and nice to work with, fluent in English and easy to understand.
