Clarissa has vast experience both in teaching and as a Special Needs coordinator. She has helped a wide range of special needs children and has the bucket loads of patience needed to help them. Also she gets a real buzz from seeing a nervous, inward looking child grow in confidence as they learn all the coping strategies and to become one of the brighter kids in class.

My daughter has always found reading challenging but in year 3 it just got worse. It affected her behaviour and her self esteem plummeted. Clarissa has proven herself time and time again to be an expert at assessing children's reading (and writing) level, and devising personalised methods to improve their knowledge and confidence. She is friendly, approachable and very good at engaging the child, following their lead/interests in order to develop them one step further. Her approach led my child to believe she was just having fun whilst learning phonics. The online format worked very well for us, the novelty kept my child engaged and it meant we could do short daily sessions which was my preference. It also meant I could watch and learn myself (as an adult who does not know phonics or how best to teach reading, this was great!) and keep records of progress and content easily.
