About Alexandra
I am working on a PhD in Ancient Greek History and Literature at UCL, having previously studied Classics at Oxford. I have a PGCE and have worked as a Classics teacher and Head of Department for the past seven years, teaching all the classical subjects and languages to ages 10-18, as well as mentoring PGCE students with their teacher training. I also have ten years’ experience of private tutoring.

My approach is to guide and scaffold so as to enable students to work things out for themselves, in doing so learning effectively and deeply. I believe in praise, encouragement and respect as the best ways to help students learn. I also make sure I always provide thorough and comprehensive materials, resources and notes.
