About Jake
I've spent years in the trenches of the music industry — not just studying it, but living it. I perform professionally as a guitarist and vocalist, I write and produce my own music, and I teach audio production at the college level. This isn't a side hustle for me. This is my life's work.
My students learn Pro Tools — the same software used in professional studios, film scoring stages, and broadcast facilities worldwide. When you learn with me, you're not learning a hobby tool. You're learning the industry standard, taught by someone who uses it professionally every single day.

My approach is simple — I meet you where you are and we build from there. Whether you've never opened a DAW or you're already recording and just can't figure out why your mixes don't translate, I've worked with students at every level and I know how to get you moving.
Teaching Method & Techniques
I teach the way I wish someone had taught me — by doing, not just watching. Every lesson is hands-on inside Pro Tools, the industry standard DAW at the professional level. Walk into any major recording studio, film scoring stage, or broadcast facility in the world and you'll find Pro Tools. That's what we work in, that's what I teach, and that's what gives my students a real edge. I don't lecture at you, I work alongside you. We tackle real problems in your real sessions, and I explain the "why" behind every move so you're not just copying steps, you're actually learning to think like a producer.
A Typical Lesson
We start by identifying exactly where you're stuck or what you want to accomplish. From there we dive straight into Pro Tools and work through it together — whether that's gain staging, EQ decisions, routing, arrangement, mixing, or understanding the business side of your music. Every lesson ends with a clear action item so you leave with momentum, not just information.

I'm a college-level audio production professor, a professional guitarist and vocalist, and an active songwriter building my own publishing catalog. I know this world from every angle.
