About Brian
I am a community college adjunct faculty member. I have been teaching primarily essay writing for nearly the past 20 years at various institutions (for-profit, non-profit, and public). The courses I currently teach prepare students to write college-level informative research essays and fulfill part of the requirements for an Associate's degree, or can be used as transfer credits to a four-year university.

The students in my classes "build" and revise their essays throughout the semester. We start with writing a focused thesis statement, then an introduction, followed by body paragraphs and a conclusion; finally, the students submit a rough draft. Peer review is utilized, giving the students more opportunity to revise and edit their essays, so that, by the end of the semester, the students will submit the best final draft possible.
