As a college instructor and native Chinese speaker, my teaching approach centers on real-life communication and cultural relevance. I design lessons around realistic life situations—such as travel, business, dining, or daily conversations—to help students gain practical language skills. I emphasize speaking and listening in context, while also integrating reading and writing to build a well-rounded foundation.
My teaching method and techniques:
I use interactive methods, including role-playing, dialogue practice, and multimedia resources. I adapt my techniques based on the student’s learning style and proficiency level, making each session engaging and effective.
A typical lesson plan:
Each lesson begins with a brief review, followed by the introduction of new vocabulary and grammar within a themed context (e.g., booking a hotel, having a business meeting). Then we move into speaking and listening practice, finishing with a short writing or reading activity. Homework and optional practice materials are tailored to reinforce what we covered.
What sets me apart as a tutor:
I create custom lesson plans and materials based on each student’s goals, whether they’re learning Chinese for school, work, or travel. My background in higher education ensures a structured and professional learning experience, while my flexible, student-centered approach keeps it personal and fun.
Who the lessons are for:
I teach students of all levels—from beginners to advanced learners—including high school students, college students, and adult professionals. Lessons can be tailored to prepare for exams, travel, business communication, or general fluency.
