About Jordan
Education has been the center of my professional life, but I have always been a student of history, politics, writing, and the way ideas shape our world.
I earned my B.A. in Political Science/Pre-Law and Master of Arts in Teaching in Social Science Education from the University of Central Florida, followed by a post-master’s certificate in school leadership from Towson University. Today, I serve as an elementary school principal, where I have the privilege of working with students, educators, and families every day.
My particular interests are government, political science, history, social studies, and academic writing. I genuinely enjoy the process of taking a complicated idea, examining it from different perspectives, and figuring out how to communicate it clearly and persuasively. That is also what I love about helping students with their writing.
I believe some of the best tutoring happens when a student can say, “I know what I want to say—I just don’t know how to say it.” Helping someone move from that moment to a thoughtful, organized argument is incredibly rewarding.
Outside of tutoring, I am an avid reader and lifelong learner with a natural curiosity about history, government, education, and people. After many years as both an educator and school leader, I still believe learning works best when it combines high expectations with patience, encouragement, humor, and genuine human connection.

I help college and advanced high school students develop strong theses, organize arguments, use evidence effectively, revise drafts, and produce clear academic writing. Specialties include Political Science, Government, History, Social Sciences, and English Composition.
I take a personalized, practical approach to tutoring. I begin by helping students understand exactly what an assignment, prompt, or course is asking them to do, then break the work into manageable steps. My goal is not simply to help a student complete one assignment, but to strengthen the thinking, writing, and analytical skills they can use independently in future work.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing the assignment, rubric, draft, or course material. From there, we identify the student’s strongest ideas, clarify the thesis or main argument, organize the response, and determine what evidence or examples are needed. Depending on the student’s needs, we may focus on outlining, paragraph development, source integration, revision, grammar, argumentation, or improving clarity and flow. I ask questions, model strategies, provide feedback, and help students revise their own work rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all formula.
What sets me apart is the combination of my academic background and professional experience. I hold a B.A. in Political Science/Pre-Law and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Social Science Education from the University of Central Florida, as well as a post-master’s certificate in school leadership from Towson University. I am also a current elementary school principal with extensive experience in curriculum, instruction, assessment, writing, research, and student support.
My lessons are especially well suited for high school and college students working on writing-intensive assignments, including English composition, government, political science, history, social studies, research papers, essays, and written responses. I also enjoy helping students who know what they want to say but need support organizing and communicating their ideas clearly and effectively.
